Life Raft Cradles with Optional Stacking frames for Offshore Applications

RSS build and supply life raft cradles for our MES systems which in most cases are integrated into the systems, however we also build and supply stand alone deck mounted cradles suitable for all size A/B pack rafts up to 50 man capacity. The pictures shown above are cradles we designed and built for a customer offshore Mexico who wanted to retain there handrails without the need to cut them to accommodate the life rafts cradles. RSS designed and built purpose stacking frames that enabled the cradles to be bolted to a lower frame providing the height required to deploy over the top of the hand rails thus alleviating the need to cut and modify the handrails.

These cradles are supplied in aluminum and are light weight with a top drop down frame that releases the rafts to sea when deployed. Designed to be simple mechanical with limited moving parts to reduce the risk of failure to the lowest acceptable levels.

Inspection & Assembly Prior to Installation

The RSS Life Raft Cradles and optional Stacking Frames are designed to enable a containerized life raft to be deployed to sea without the need to cut the facilities hand- rails. The system is designed in two parts the main standard life raft cradle that can be used as a stand-alone unit or in this case used with the purpose-built stacking frame.

Each Life Raft Cradle undergo’s a full FAT inspection prior to shipping to ensure that the units perform as designed with all findings fully documented. The Life Raft Cradles are constructed from aluminum tubing which has been anodized to ensure maximum longevity in an offshore salt laden environment and a 24-month warranty is provided by RSS for cases of failure of any part component of either the Life Raft Cradle or is supplied the Lower Stacking Frames. The warranty does not cover misuse of the product from incorrect assembly, installation or operating.
